Bruce Giron

President and CEO

After a number of years as an officer in the Marine Corp, Bruce began his IT career at SBC/AT&T serving for nearly 15 years in an engineering, operations and management capacity before moving over to an Internet startup in an executive role. As COO he helped guide the Internet company through three rounds of funding while creating business infrastructure and implementing effective business processes and controls during a period of rapid growth–going from less than 20 employees to more than 100 during his tenure. In 2002, Bruce was needed back on active duty as a Colonel in the Marine Corp. For three years he was responsible for leadership of division rear elements during combat operations in Iraq. He commanded several thousand Marines and Sailors principally in preparation for combat duty.

He directed scenario based troop training efforts, equipment maintenance and management efforts, new equipment evaluations, and fielding efforts. Bruce exercised Military Judicial authority, assigned investigations, and exercised budget approval authority. He was responsible for training Marines for future deployment to Iraq, family support activities of Marine dependents, receiving and assisting combat wounded Marines transition through medical rehabilitation, ongoing maintenance of non-deployed combat equipment, and liaison to external organizations with interests in the division. Bruce developed and implemented a comprehensive continuity of operations plan for operating a Marine Corps Division during periods of uncertainty.

In 2005, when Bruce was discharged from active duty he created a real estate equities partnership that today operates and manages several apartment buildings in the San Francisco Bay area. In 2007, he started Select Business Products as a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). The company restructured and shifted focus to Information Technology in December 2012 and changed its name to the Veterans IT Group where Bruce now serves as President and CEO. Bruce holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the US Naval Academy and a Master’s Degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California.
